  • Specific Hazards to Navigation: The approach to Mahogany Bay must be generally made from the southeast of Banco Cordelia.  Daring Shoal extends from the western shore of the bay to the southwest through south direction for several miles offshore (See DMA Chart 28153 / 28154).
  • An east cardinal buoy marks the southerly limit of the approach as well as the seaward end of the entrance channel centerline.  Punta Diablo Blanco, a shallow shoal, marks the east side of the mouth of the bay.
  • Fixed and floating navigation aids mark the entrance and boundary of the navigable waters of Mahogany Bay.

Berth Assignments:

  • If there is only one vessel scheduled in port on a given day, that vessel’s Captain may choose which berth to occupy (however MBCC reserves right to assign a berth if necessary).  On multiple-vessel days, the berth will be assigned by MBCC.  Vessels can view the berthing assignment by clicking their vessel’s name on the call date in question in the Port Schedule section of the MBCC web site (www.mahoganybaycc.com).
  • Vessels almost exclusively enter Dixon Cove channel "stern in" thus docking "port side to" at Mahogany Bay Cruise Center.
  • Note: Vessels departing North Pier are requested to proceed at Dead Slow or minimum speed necessary to maintain steerage in order to prevent erosion of banks.
  • There is insufficient room within basin for vessels to turn around.  Departing vessels must proceed directly out of channel toward open water.
